I didn’t only move back to Virginia for the Frida Kahlo exhibit… but let’s just say it didn’t hurt. 😉 Frida Kahlo has inspired me for as long as I can remember—her fearless expression, bold use of color, deep cultural pride, and powerful self-portraits have always spoken to me.
I’m thrilled to be offering my very first workshop back in Richmond in celebration of her life and legacy. This two-day series is designed for young artists to experience and explore Frida’s work through their own creative lens.
✿ Day One: Flower Crowns + Frida
Date: Saturday, August 9
Time: 10AM – 12PM
Inspired by the iconic floral headpieces Frida often wore, children will create their own wearable flower crowns. We’ll kick off the day with a guided gallery walk through the VMFA’s Frida Kahlo exhibit, then settle on the shaded museum lawn for our art session.
